Capo = Cool

Yay! I love my guitar! I love my pick! I love my capo!

No more feeling "sian" everytime I see my favourite song that needs a capo because I now have a capo!

Actually I had it a long time ago just that I mistook it to be the guitar strap and not a capo.

Hooray for nice songs!

Baby Sense

Government Warning: This entry has been certified as "NONSENSICAL". Read moderately.

-----

Do you ever wonder what happens to all the memories we had as babies? From as long as I can remember, my childhood memories started at the age of four. It seems as though my brain started recording stuff at that age.

That means there is at least four years where I have no memory whatsoever. What happens in the brain within that four years where the brain seems to be "starting up"? All the settings were loading, all the basic software were being "installed" until the brain can begin its data storing capabilities.

I have come up with a theory based on one encounter with a baby. I think during the time when the brain starts to learn things through the five senses, the brain is at a mode where it's really elevated. As the brain develops, all the senses are heightened for maximum intake of sights, smells, sounds, tastes, and feelings. However, I hypothesize that even at this point in brain development, a sixth sense is also activated.

A sense outside of the five normally "running". This sense detects that which cannot be detected by the five senses. Perhaps even able to detect character.

I quote a famous movie star, "I was holding a baby... and it was judging me. It was looking at me and it was judging me."

What gives babies the ability to "judge" people? I believe it is the heightened sixth sense. They are able to detect things that are pleasant and reach out for it. If you've ever seen a baby reaching out for things that the baby wants, say a pacifier, or a bottle, you would have an idea of what I'm talking about. In the same way babies can sometimes be observed reaching out for the sky - to nothingness.

Perhaps they are able to sense a great future ahead? Perhaps they long to be back in heaven where they just came from. Perhaps they are reaching out to angels watching over them.

They sense something unseen.

That leads me to wonder why one day while taking the LRT, I felt a tug at my jeans. When I turned to look at what it was, it was a baby, reaching out for me.

It was so cute!

Babies are really cute!

I'm not making any sense anymore.

A Walk Down Memory Lane

Rummaging through the closets yesterday. I found a swiss army knife that I decided to keep. I found the capo that I was looking for for such a long time. I found a make-shift drawing book that was only used for four pages. I found the prologue to an unfinished novel. I also found memories.

It was small and brown and had blue ink stains. Water had sploshed up the corners and the pencil-written words have almost faded away. Every page had a memory. I remember deciding to write it all down for posterity.

After looking through the pages, I now realize how untrue those words were. At least, they were true for a time, they were true for you. I wonder if you too keep the memories. I wonder if you'll ever hate me for not staying true to those words.

It would be convenient to blame the innocence of youth for making all those unkept promises, but that's just taking the easy way out.

I try and justify my action or the lack of it by telling myself that the future is unclear. It's best not to leave you hanging. Maybe I should have told you instead of just keeping silent.

I regret not being there for you then. I wonder if you still think of me the same way you used too even after I failed you. I wish I was more mature then to make my own decision. But that again, is blaming youth.

Now as I close the little brown notebook that you gave me, I wonder whether you are still waiting.

All I can hope for is that you have found someone who can be there for you.

Not like the way I was not.

The Cool Clock

This is the cool clock in my room. It lights up when I clap. I've also found other things that make it light up.

1. Clap (that's a given)
2. Cough
3. Guitar falls by accident
4. Slapping the back of a guitar
5. Saying "POP!" 1 feet away from it

Things that don't make it light up.
1. Strumming the guitar strings real loud
2. Snapping my fingers up close
3. Saying "POP!" from 6 feet away
4. Jumping up and down on the bed
5. Moaning (from boredom)

Post-Concert Post

It's over. I really had fun performing at the guitar concert.

Now that the concert's over, most of us in the ensemble are now wandering gugu-heads. We are more or less CCA-less now.

It feels weird having nothing to do after school. Looking forward to Post-Concert celebration this Wednesday.

I'm looking for a new song to memorize to wash out the Rock Song from my head. It's not my type. =p I shall go and listen to the radio.

It's time to catch up on studies and keep on. Full steam ahead and aiming for all C for my 3 subs for block test. It's a very realistic goal, I think.

Anyway, I am inspirationless now.

Goodbye!

Back Breaking

Yesterday while going home, I, Yongjie, Larry, and Wheelock saw a guy with his arms around another guy's shoulder.

I don't know why we found it so interesting. I tried to rationalize the situation thinking that maybe they were brothers or something. The "couple" went inside a shop and I don't know who wanted to follow them inside.

We observed them from afar as they window shopped. We followed them until the MRT. We were headed the opposite direction but we thought of following them for a few more stops just to see if anything was going to happen.

Talk about "got nothing better to do".
