Red Fog

It was a day like any other. I decided to ride Van Helsing to the MRT station. (for those who still dunno, Van Helsing is my bike)

Now, everytime I cycle, I always think that my tires are flat because the feel on the road is not very good; always feels like there's too much tension. After checking my tires, I found that they were still functionable so I cycled on.

I stopped by the POSB ATM to withdraw some money. At that time, I was feeling rather out of breath. As I prepared to cycle on towards the station, I suddenly felt exhausted. I felt that I needed to drink something as soon as possible.

I thought of walking over to the 711 across the street. Was there even a 711 there? I could not remember clearly. I felt my feet grow heavy with each step. My ears started ringing. "Could I make it to the station?" I thought. I knew I had to get a drink fast.

The hawker centre was just a few feet away. I set Van Helsing by the side and tried to find the drinks vendor. As I made my way to the store, my vision started to get cloudy.

I tried to act as normal as possible so as not to attract attention. The uncle asked me what I wanted. "100 Plus." I could not hear myself. I panicked a little bit. As the uncle passed me the can and the cup of ice, I struggled to act natural.

My vision began to be even more clouded. I thought that I was going to faint. Soon my vision was overwhelmed by red fog. I had always thought that when people faint, their vision blacks out, but mine was a red colour. Maybe it was the blood rushing to my head. I struggled to get sight of where I was going. In the corner of my eye I could see a table. I almost sat there and then until I saw that it was already occupied.

I turned, not really seeing where I was going. I almost tripped over the small step as I made my way back into the hawker centre. Before my vision was completely overwhelmed by the red fog, I sat down. As I drank that can of 100 plus, everything was completely red for a few seconds and the ringing in my ears seemed to be at the loudest.

Slowly I drank. After a few more seconds, everything began to go back to normal. I finished the can and sat for a while. Thinking about what might have caused this.

This never happened when I ran my 2.4 last time. I was more exhausted then than after I cycled. I thought for a while and came to the conlusion that it was either lack of sleep or lack of food. (I had skipped breakfast and lunch) Another explanation might be the heat. That would make sense as the red vision could have been caused by the bright sun.

Whatever it is, all I could think about was... "Cool!" I never had that kind of experience before. I think I could have fainted there and then. All the while I was thinking, "Is this how fainting or becoming unconscious feels like?"

It was a whole new experience for me and I made it a point to remember every moment of it. Haha.
