The phone started ringing.
JG: Hello?
JG's Mom: Where are you? Are you going to call or not? It's 8.15pm already!
JG: I'm at Simei... Josh's place...
JG's Mom: What are you doing there? Do you want to call or not? Come home now!
JG: Ok, ok.
*click*
JG estimated that if he left at that time he would reach home at 9.30pm. He raised his arms to get the attention of everyone in the room. "Guys, I got to go already."
"We'll go also lah," said Bok.
After a while, Alicia, Bok, Debra, Des, Larry, Valen, and JG were on their way to Simei MRT.
During the ride, they all managed to get seats. It was going to be a long journey.
Valen then suggested to take a cab somewhere. She convinced Bok and JG. He thought he'd get home before 9.30pm.
The three alighted at Outram Park MRT. JG was not sure where to take the cab, but he just walked on. He decided to call Des to make sure they were in the right direction. They were not.
When they finally reached the right street, there were no cabs at all, but they did notice a taxi stand at the opposite side of the road so they crossed the overhead bridge again.
It was getting late and there were no cabs coming in the taxi stand. Some cabs were unoccupied but they refused to come in the stand. Valen was getting annoyed. They soon found out that the rest of the people who continued on the train reached Jurong East already.
JG's phone rang.
JG: Hello?
JG's Mom: Where are you?
JG: I'm at Outram going to take a cab.
JG's Mom: Ok.
JG: But there are no cabs.
JG Mom's: Call one now!
JG: Ok, ok.
In the end, no cab was assigned to "Mr. John" but a taxi did come in at the stand and they were soon on their way home.
JG reached home at 10.30pm. He found the number he had to call on the computer table.
JG picked up the phone and thought to himself, "Well, here goes."
-=end=-
I had called her, but she said it was ok. She said it was nothing. What am I supposed to think? It is ok and it is nothing.
