The Concert

"He's late again," he thought. "Ah, well, but it can't be helped. His tardiness is legendary."

-

A long wait, a short walk, and a long bus ride later, they finally arrived.

"Is this the place?" "Where is it?" asked Cheese.

An usher approached the group of five and told them that "it" was at the second floor.

"Where is it? Second floor?" The group walked on.

"I think she thought you were looking for the toilet," suggested Jerr.

"Nonsense, why would she think that?" questioned Cheese.

"'Cause you look like you need to go to the toilet," quipped Jerr.

-

Soon everyone gathered at the entrance to the auditorium. It was almost like the whole class again.

-

"It feels good," he thought. "It's good to meet everyone again."

-

The choir did a wonderful job. The music and the songs were nice. Especially the Filipino one. =D

-

She came out from backstage and walked towards the piano. She stood out in the performance as she was obviously not from choir. She placed her flute on top of the piano and assisted the pianist in switching the pages of the score.

A hush came over the audience as she took to the stage with her flute in hand. With a signal from the conductor, she began to play.

-

The melodious tune echoed across the auditorium and into his ears. It was a wonderful sound.

Thoughts ran through his mind as the girl continued to play the flute. The choir began to sing.

-

"Music..."

-

He began to feel regret. Regret for not realising how wonderful a gift it is to be able to play music. If only he was more diligent when he was younger. If only he had realised sooner how magical it is to be able to convey emotions through music. There was satisfaction in being able to play a musical instrument. Feeling that cannot be put into words can be conveyed through music. He imagined himself playing the violin - the instrument that he gave up.

-

"Heh, no point brooding over it. I might as well enjoy the show." =)
